A: As noted before, it was "Moonlight Serenade," music by Glenn Miller, first recorded 1938. Placed on the back side of "Sunrise Serenade" it became a huge hit and was adopted by Miller as his theme song. Lyrics were subsequently written by Mitchell Parrish. Sinatra did a great cover on his album "Moonlight Sinatra." More recently, Carly Simon did a lovely alto version on her album "Moonlight Serenade" released in 2005 - highly recommended.
