Jazz guitarist Howard Alden is the actual performer of the solo music played by Emmet Ray. Unfortunately, none of the solo musings are available on this soundtrack CD. Alden's CD In a Mellow Tone contains a track called "Blues for Emmett," precisely inspired by his work on the film.
