Soundtrack Q & A
Q: I've been trying to find out for a good 5 years what the song Beau Bridges (Connie) is singing in the motel bathroom while Shirley gets the phone call from his mistress. He's still singing it when he comes out of the bathroom and she slaps him in the face. I don't know if this is a real song, or just made up? But, I'm hoping it's a real song and that someone can tell me what it's called! This would solve a long-going mystery for myself and my family. Thanks!

Q: When Shirley was young, Hoyt Axton was singing a song to her. In it were the lyrics "...but you taught me how to cry..." Can anyone tell me the name of the song? (from W.T. BARKER in HOUSTON, TEXAS)
A: I don't about the movie, but I know Hoyt Axton recorded a tune called "You Taught Me How to Cry" also with Tanya Tucker (thanks to surf, Canadaadd more info
A: The name of it was "You Taught Me How To Cry". He put it on his Slowblind Friend and Never Been To Spain albums. The version from the movie I've been unable to locate... as well as the complete movie soundtrack. Too bad also, because Tanya Tucker sang with him on the album cuts. I liked it much better when he did it alone. I don't think it was one of his favorites only because it's not on some of the other compilations he did before he died. (thanks to Tackleterry, Hayweird, CAadd more info

Q: I'm curious if you have information regarding the existence of a soundtrack from this movie that contains the songs used in the movie by the individual musical artists other than the film scoring by Laurence Rosenthal. (from shannon in Mobile, AL US)
A: Unfortunately, this score CD is the only soundtrack ever released for this film... at least as of 2009. (thanks to Doughpieadd more info

Q: In the movie Hoyt Axton plays Shirley's father and was a singer in a country bar. He sang "Built for Comfort, Not for Speed" in the movie ... yet is doesn't appear on the soundtrack listing for the CD. Is this song available elsewhere? Thanks.
...from Augie Holtkort in Carrollton, TX, USA (answer Augie Holtkort's question)

Q: Why wasn't "Born to Win" by Jill Michaels on the soundtrack?
