...from hal in cal (answer hal's question)

Q: What's the song playing in the end credits? Is it "Explosions in the Sky"? (from joey in texas)
A: Don't know the name, but the artist singing the song is Sarah McLachlan. (thanks to Charlie C., Aberdeen, Marylandadd more info
A: I'm not sure but it could be "A song for our fathers" by "Explosions in the sky" (thanks to Francois, Quebec, Canadaadd more info
A: It's called "Finale" by Danny Elfman. It does sound similar to Explosions in the Sky so I can see why people get confused. (thanks to David Davies, New Quay, Walesadd more info
A: It is too ironic that all say it is not Explosions in the Sky yet it has exactly the same rhythm as most of "Your Hand in Mine." Also not only did Minka Kelly and Kyle Chandler have cameos in the film Friday Night Light, but it was directed by Peter Berg... who also directed FNL. Just something to chew on :^) (thanks to singleminded, San Diego, Caadd more info

Q: I know Danny Elfman did the original score, but there's some stuff that sounds a lot like Explosions In The Sky. Did the two work together? Because that last song, although it says it's by Elfman, sounds a lot like Explosions. (from andy in ohio)
A: It IS Danny Elfman, and he must've listened to a LOT of Explosions in the Sky while doing the soundtrack... (thanks to Reveirg, Brossardadd more info
A: It is "Explosions in the Sky"! (thanks to p. berg, south carolinaadd more info
A: I have never heard of "Explosions in the Sky" but if it is anything like this, I have got to find it! Also sounds very close to "Blood Runs Cold" by Def Leppard off the 1996 album Slang. Just my opinion. (thanks to Jimmy, Minerva, Ohioadd more info

Q: What's the song that starts out with a bass line that sounds like a 90's song?
...from PB in Idaho (answer PB's question)

Q: What's the song playing at the end after they kill Abu Hamza? (from Seleem in Atlanta Georgia)
A: You can also find that song in the movie Friday Night Lights. It's by Explosions in the Sky. Hope this helps. (thanks to alisha, NorthWest Arkansasadd more info
A: The song is "Your Hand In Mine" by Explosions in The Sky. (thanks to Anonymous, Syd, Ausadd more info
A: That's NOT "Your Hand in Mine," it's an original Danny Elfman track, although he was probably listening to a ton of Explosions in the Sky when he wrote it. (thanks to The Amazing Yeah, Charlotte, NCadd more info
A: It's called "Finale" by Danny Elfman. (thanks to RP, Canadaadd more info

Q: What song is playing when everyone is getting ready for bed we see the guy playing with his kids and the other guy helping his dad get to bed? (from Chris in Dallas)
A: The song is "Friendship" by Danny Elfman. (thanks to Changez, Peshawar, Pakistanadd more info
A: It is not "Friendship." The track is called "Finale." In the movie that track plays when they're about to sleep and at the final scene where they pay their respects to the dead guy. (thanks to jude, singaporeadd more info
A: The track is actually called "Waiting." "Finale" is different... (thanks to Benj, UKadd more info

Q: Is the song from the second theatrical trailer (it's kinda like a rock song) on this soundtrack? If not, what's the song's title, and where can I find it? (from Steve in USA)
A: It's from U2. The song is called "Bullet the Blue Sky." (thanks to Stef, Viennaadd more info

Q: What is the song playing when the palace of the prince is presented at night, right before al Ghazi starts addressing the prince about the Americans that are soon to come?
...from Claudiu in Romania (answer Claudiu's question)

Q: What is the lead instrument used in the songs "Friendship," "Waiting" and "Finale"? It sounds like an electrical guitar of some sort. It's absolutely beautiful. (from Kass in United States)
A: Kass, the finale is definitely Explosions in the Sky. I'm sure the other two are also. You've probably heard them before in the movie Friday Night Lights and I agree it's amazing. They do a fantastic mix of classical and new instruments with that electric guitar. (thanks to capty99, austin, texas, united statesadd more info

Q: There is a song at the end of the movie, it's like a guitar acoustic (maybe solo) thing... What is the name of that song?? (from ID10T in South Africa)
A: It's called "FINALE" by Danny Elfman...many people here are saying that it's by Explosions in the Sky, but I have downloaded that track and compared it to a sample version of "Finale" that you can hear at Amazon.com and it's very very similar, but not that song. (thanks to Dez, Ottawa, ONadd more info

Q: This movie used a rap song in one of its trailers. Part of the lyric are "...What don't kill you can only make you stronger...." I would love to find out who the artist is? (from angeljohn in New York City)
A: "Stronger" by Kanye West :) (thanks to Dez, Ottawa, ONadd more info

Q: I'm looking for performing credits for the score music. The last piece "Finale" and some others sound like Daniel Lanois. Some have mentioned Explosions In The Sky, and I listened to some clips of theirs and they sound heavily influenced by Lanois/Eno and even do a cover of Lanois on Friday Night Lights. To me it sounds more like Lanois than Explosions, but I could be wrong. (from steve in charlotte, nc)
A: It's actually Danny Elfman, the song is called "Finale" and another version from the film is titled "Waiting" which is basically another version with the same riffs. As for Explosions in the Sky, they do appear heavily influenced by Lanois/Eno. But as for the FNL soundtrack, the track "Sonho Dourado" is not a cover of Daniel Lanois, but rather it IS Daniel Lanois. (thanks to Berry, Canadaadd more info

Q: What song is playing at the baseball game just before the attack?  (from jim in uk)
A: "Stay (Wasting Time)" by Dave Matthews Band (thanks to sarah, memphs tnadd more info

Q: There is a lot of great electric guitar in the soundtrack that has the strat/fender bell quality to it. Who is playing the guitar? (from kim in SLO, CA)
A: Haven't actually seen the album credits to verify, but sounds an awful lot like Bill Frisell. He often plays a telecaster on his records, so that would explain your fender assumption. I would like to find out who it is myself if anyone knows for sure. (thanks to Doug, Indianapolis, IN, USAadd more info

Q: What song is playing when Flurry is taking to the colonel's son, after the Serna is shot?
...from hiphopopotamus in Toronto (answer hiphopopotamus's question)

Q: What is the name of the theme song in the movie?
...from Dominique in Ky (answer Dominique's question)

Q: Who wrote and performed the final song from the soundtrack?
...from greg in michigan (answer greg's question)
