Soundtrack Q & A
Q: When the credits are running at the end of the movie, a group is playing "Only You." Can you tell me who the group is please? Very important. (from Sharon in Taylor, Michigan)
A: The Platters. (thanks to Cynthia, Berkeley, Californiaadd more info

Q: I want to know what the song name is for the main theme. If not that one then the one where he hits it and the music plays while he runs in slow motion. (from Gordon in michigan)
A: Assuming you refer to the baseball hitting the scoreboard, young Larry is not running in slow motion he's simply jogging. He's in no hurry because he knocked it out of the park, as it were. The studio orchestra is simply playing dramatic music and if they ever do name sections like this, then at best it might be "Larry's Theme" with the added note of "homerun". The musician's job is to add to the movie without being noticed. Since you noticed, they failed (sort of). Another movie (The American President) gives no credit in the movie or soundtrack for the operatic aria playing in the background when he's having dinner at her place (she cooked). Took me a while to track down that the aria was from Lakme, just in case you're wondering. (thanks to George, Hastings, NE, USAadd more info

Q: The Platters had a few different singers during their career. The closing credit song "Only You" is a very good version. Who is the singer in this version, and on what CD can we find this version?
...from gothondra in Apsley,Ontario,Canada (answer gothondra's question)

Q: During the scene in the restaurant with Jim and Linda Hamilton, he picks a song from the juke box that meant something to the two of them. What is the name of that song and who sings it? Thank you everyone for your responses. (from kathy in new jersey)
A: Spencer Davis Group - "Gimme Some Lovin'" (thanks to shy, Toronto, ON, Canadaadd more info
