Soundtrack Q & A
Q: What is the song/track that opens/closes this movie? It sounds like carribean steel drum music. (from Chevie in richmond)
A: It's one of the three tracks by Hans Zimmer on the soundtrack CD. It's familiar music because he ripped it off of some classical piece. (thanks to Titch, UKadd more info
A: The classical sounding music is originally composed by Carl Orff. (thanks to film fanatic, englandadd more info
A: Yes, thank you guys! I finally found it: "Beach Song" by Hans Zimmer (thanks to cs&pa-tr, happylandadd more info
A: I think the Hans Zimmer homage to Carl Orff is because the Carl Orff piece was used in the earlier film Badlands. (thanks to Henry7, Manchester UKadd more info

Q: What is the song heard when he first takes Alabama to his comic book store at the beginning of the film? (from mikey in england)
A: "Wounded Birds" by Charles & Eddie (thanks to Summore, SoCaladd more info

Q: What is the song Dennis Hopper sings along to? I thought it might be "The Tears of a Clown." I am looking for the lyrics too. (from ed in apple valley,ca,usa)
A: "A Little Bitty Tear," performed by Burl Ives, now long deceased. (thanks to jackrabbit, Texasadd more info

Q: I'm looking for sheet music for "You're Co Cool" but am finding it increasingly hard to get hold of a copy. Do you know where I can get this from?
...from Vinny in Scotland (answer Vinny's question)

A: Skinny Boys - Skinny (They Can't Get Enough) (thanks to emperor_tud, Bangkokadd more info

Q: What is the choral music playing in the background when Walken is about to kill Hopper? It is a lady singing opera-like music. (from david in daytona , fl usa)
A: "Viens Mallika Sous Le Dome" (thanks to eznow26, solihull, englandadd more info

Q: What is the tune playing when Clarence fights and kills Drexel? (from legion in blackpool)
A: The track is "I Want Your Body" by Nymphomania (thanks to anfieldsno1, milton keynes, ukadd more info

Q: What is the music playing when Alabama is fighting the hitman in the safari motel? The soft music when she has the cork screw.... (from eznow26 in england)
A: It isn't credited, but I think it is Vangelis,' "Love Theme from Blade Runner." Admittedly this is unlikely given copyright issues. (thanks to aj, Newport,VA, USAadd more info
A: Sorry...but I don't think it is the "Love Theme" from Blade Runner. It is an original tune by Hans Zimmer that is played during the Safari Motel scene between Alabama and Virgil, the hit man. Part of this tune can be heard during the track "Amid The Chaos Of The Day". As a side note I believe a modified version of "End Titles" track of Blade runner is used in the film during the "Elvis-Clarence" scene. (thanks to Pishu, Cochinadd more info

Q: Just heard the track called "Home" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Amazing inspirational song. Almost sounded like it was made for this movie (especially with the Alabama reference) and there was something very familiar about it even though the song is new. I haven't seen the movie for years now but thought I remember a song with "Alabama" in the lyrics as well. Any help from the True Romantics out there?
