A: 1812 Overture, played by the Trans-Siberian orchestra. (thanks to AJ, hereadd more info
A: Wrong. It's Tchaikovsky. Trans-Siberian Orchestra may have covered it, but it's Tchaikovsky. Besides, T-SO specializes in Symphonic Rock/Metal - there's a HUGE difference between the original classical piece and metal-esque cover. (thanks to Kris, Canadaadd more info

Q: Right after "Street Fighting Man" by the Stones is another song, kinda new age with talking in it (NOT the one by the Ethan dude). Anyone know it? (from SamBam in USA- Georgia)

Here is how it is listed in the credits (taken from the web site): "BKAB" Written and Performed by ETHAN STOLLER Contains Excerpts from "ON BLACK POWER" BY MALCOLM X Courtesy of THE FAMILY OF MALCOLM X by CMG WORLDWIDE, INC. The last one, that caught my attention, sounds like it came from the soundtrack of Meet Joe Black. Hope this helps. If you ever find out please let us all know. (thanks to Bud, N.Y. stateadd more info
A: The last credit after "KABAB" in the additional music to the film was "Out of Sight" performed by "Spirtualized." I believe it was listed in chronological order. Afterwards it returns to the film composer's score. I'm not sure if this is related to the George Clooney/J-lo film's soundtrack but the writer is "Jason Peirce." This is a guess and I'm gonna check it out 'cause that little piece of music is stuck in my head! It was awesome! (thanks to DC, Vancouver BC, Canadaadd more info
A: The theme is "The Dominoes Fall" and plays last in the end credits. (thanks to Johan, Cape Town, South Africaadd more info

A: Yes, there are hundreds of versions of "1812 Overture." To find the specific one used in the film, you will need to look at the end credits and see with orchestra is credited (and conductor). If you have that information, you should be able to find the exact one used in the film. (thanks to OSTfan, Burlingameadd more info
A: The length of the "1812 Overture" used in the film is near three minutes (I think); however, the exact version of the Overture is in this CD's last track "Knives and Bullets (And Cannons Too)" by Dario Marianelli. From minute 5:35 on in that track the film Overture version begins. (thanks to Victor, South Americaadd more info

A: The 1812 Overture is actually around 10 minutes in length, however the first seven or so minutes of the song no one actually listens too while the last 3 mintues (thereabouts) is the theme that everyone knows and loves. (thanks to Ryan, Flemingtonadd more info
A: The length of the full version is 17:00 long, which is the whole overture. (thanks to Tom, Michigani, USAadd more info

Q: Is the opening music from the movie on one of the tracks? It's catchy hero-genre music played during the beginning titles. It's also played while V is giving his speech at the BTN. (from Nato in USA)

Q: Does any one know the lyrics for BKAB? I know they're two songs from two different films put together, but I can't seem to find a direct lyrics of BKAB. I know it's sung by Arthi Meera, and I know the English translation, but have been driving myself insane trying to find the untranslated lyrics. (from SuperDuckyWho in Mn)
A: You won't find the lyrics for "BKAB" anywhere because they're just a mixed-up collage of words from the two songs I sampled. Email me if you want the email address of the guy who translated it for me--I'm sure he'd provide you with a translation. Cheers!
PS--Arthi Meera has an exquisite voice, but she doesn't appear on "BKAB." It's an anonymous sample CD singer woman. (thanks to ethan s, chicagoadd more info
A: I can answer your question as I used to watch a lot of Bollywood films (before I grew up and realised they were mostly artless). The two songs Ethan sampled are "Pardesi Pardesi" from the film Raja Hindustani (1996) and "Churake Dil Mera" from the film Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994 or 1995, I can't remember exactly. This film is also the Bollywood remake of The Hard Way. The lyrics used are mostly from the chorus of each song. Copy and paste the song titles into a search engine with the word "lyrics" and you shall have what you want. (thanks to neeral, Richmond, UKadd more info

Q: About 1812: I've been looking for the exact performers of the version in the movie, and haven't been able to get the exact version. Someone said it was John Williams conducting the Boston Pops Orchestra, WRONG, someone else said it was Trans Siberian Orchestra, possible but quite unlikely (couldn't discard the data), but DOES ANYONE KNOW FOR CERTAIN, WHO PERFORMS THE VERSION IN 'VENDETTA' ????? (from wendingo in Chile, Santiago)
A: I believe it is this one: Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture - Telarc 1979 Digital Recording - Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra - Erich Kunzel... ...from Lauren in Atlanta, GA (answer Lauren's question)

Q: Dos anybody know why V (or the director) chose to play the 1812 Overture? Is it just because the original cannons in the piece suited the explosions / general 'war' symbolism? Or is there better reasoning? (from Paul in Ottawa)
A: The first theme, da da da daa de, da da da da daa, dada - in the horns - is Tchaikovsky's, but taken from Russian church music. As familiar to them as Yankee Doodle to us, it has words meaning "O God, save Thy people". This is V's leitmotif, playing again [in soundtrack, but not in the story, ie, the characters are not hearing it] when his DVD speech comes on. He knows it, because he uses it; but so does the soundtrack, as a kind of greek chorus telling us about him. Why does it matter? It's a clue about Who He Is, the riddle of the film. That he is a man playing God, as men do, is obvious; whether this is madness, irony, blasphemy, or exposition is the riddle. IMHO, this also turns on what you make of the appearance of the dead in the last scene. Also, the piece is written for cannons and huge bells - the bell clangs from the blast just where it would be rung in the piece - it all fits. (thanks to Cyranorox, a garret above a moonlit streetadd more info

A: Look above....it is said in the comments above that the song is "Remember Remember" (the first in the track-list) but I'm not sure. I've listened to it a lot of times by now and I can't here a thing from the scene when V rambles of into the alliteration speech (actually, try to learn this speech by heart..just for fun....it took me 10 minutes and 30 minutes to learn the part '...venal virulent vermin van guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition'.)..so...if you find it in this track, tell me please the exact time of start and end of the part.
